Next Stop: Hilltop

Rebuilding Hope Secures Future Headquarters

We’re beyond excited to announce that we just purchased our first-ever owned building! Located in the heart of Hilltop, we have big dreams of transforming this new space into a safe, confidential and welcoming center of healing for victims/survivors in our community.

For over 50 years, Rebuilding Hope has operated out of various leased buildings, most recently in the Dome District, where staff and resources have outgrown cramped offices. Recognizing the urgent need for more space, last January, Executive Director Carlyn Sampson teamed up with our Board of Directors to form a Facilities Task Force.

The Hilltop Neighborhood quickly emerged as the perfect location for our future headquarters due to its proximity to the recently expanded Link light rail, key bus lines, hospitals, legal buildings, and social services. From there, the Task Force found 723 MLK Jr. Way – a spacious building that not only met our needs for expansion but also resonated with our vision of accessibility and community integration.

Crux Commercial Partners, along with John Bauder and Harrison Laird (who you may remember as the co-host of our Spring Soiree) from Lee & Associates, provided invaluable support in helping us secure the building. We feel incredibly fortunate to have had guidance from these industry leaders who supported us through this major milestone in the agency’s history.

As we prepare to make our new headquarters fully operational, significant upgrades and repairs are needed, including a new HVAC system estimated at $35,000. Stay tuned to learn about how you can help support this project as we gear up to launch a capital campaign this Fall.
