With the support of our community, Rebuilding Hope is taking a momentous step toward providing comprehensive care for our friends and neighbors who have experienced sexual assault and abuse, while building a community free of sexual violence.
Our new Healing Headquarters at 723 MLK Jr. Way in Hilltop is our first-ever owned building, and it has already more than doubled our space for staff and clients.
For over 50 years, Rebuilding Hope operated out of various leased buildings, most recently in the Dome District, where staff and resources outgrew cramped offices. Recognizing the urgent need for more space, Executive Director Carlyn Sampson teamed up with the agency’s Board of Directors in early 2024 to purchase our new headquarters. Before moving in, we completed renovations that were critical in order to welcome clients into the space including updating flooring, replacing light fixtures, adding trim and paint, and removing manufacturing equipment. These changes allowed us to begin welcoming clients to the new facility in January, 2025. Check out the Before & After photos below to see how far we’ve come!
The Healing Headquarters Campaign is far from over. We have an even bigger dream: a Hilltop campus with a Client Drop-in Center, a Healing Garden, and many other exciting improvements that will make this historic building a state-of-the-art facility that centers victim-survivors.
You can help make this dream a reality by making a gift in support of our $4.5 million capital campaign that will enable Rebuilding Hope to better serve Pierce and Kitsap counties for decades to come.
| Estimated Project Budget | |
| Property & building purchase | $2,200,000 |
| Property & building improvements for occupancy (renovations, furnishings, etc.) | $800,000 |
| Dedicated spaces tailored for therapy, recovery, education, and drop-in support | $1,100,000 |
| Campaign-related expenses (consulting, grant writing, salaries, etc.) | $400,000 |
| TOTAL | $4,500,000 |

New Survivor Groups in Hilltop Headquarters
Sep. 02, 2025

Our new Hilltop Headquarters has given us the space to begin hosting groups designed specifically for survivors. This July, we launched our first in-person Treatment Group, offering evidence-based trauma therapy to the wider community. This fall, we also launched a Survivor Support Group, creating safe, welcoming spaces where folks can connect with others who share similar experiences and decrease isolation. Having a dedicated home for these gatherings has allowed us to expand the ways we walk alongside survivors in their individual paths to healing.

The Washington State Legislature allocated $1.24m this session in support of the project, and we couldn't be more grateful for our elected leaders' commitment to providing support, promoting healing, and partnering to end sexual violence.
Washington State Legislature Supports Healing Headquarters
May. 20, 2025

This week, we got news that made us jump for joy: the Washington State Legislature awarded us with $1.24m in grants for our Healing Headquarters Campaign!
These funds came through the Building Communities Fund Program and Local and Community Project funding, championed by our 27th LD legislators, Rep. Fey, Speaker Jinkins, and Sen. Trudeau. We are so incredibly grateful to receive these awards thanks to support from them, our incredible grant writing team, and countless others.
Now, barely six months after launching our Healing Headquarters campaign, we’ve raised 48% of our $4.5m goal! Every milestone we reach gets us closer to fully transforming our new building into a state-of-the-art healing center.
